Hitman

Another movie from a game, and did i dread what it would’ve been had it followed the likes of Doom. But thank the stars it didn’t. It was quite entertaining, but that’s not the end of it.

Timothy Olyphant plays quite a good role, though i would’ve chosen someone with a bit less emotion, and that’s one of the movie’s major cruxes, it’s too emotional. 47 was raised as an emotionless assassin, and apart from his apparent humnanness is the closest thing to Ahnold as they come. He displays too much emotion to be true to the game on which he is based.

Also, the story takes too many turns, i felt like there was too much going on for the plot to continue in a smooth and paced way. Then there’s the killing. Towards the end of the movie, they just show him over two agents with no action, just, dead… no real drama. The kid playing Hitman in the hotel was a nice touch.

I’d say this movie was good, but could’ve been a LOT better, especially in the fight scenes, it looked like a big blur to me. At least with the Bourne series, they gave it some perspective.

I’d give it a C, above average but worth a watch, once maybe.
